Egg donation is an increasingly necessary option and may be one that you should consider. If you are unable to produce eggs, the only way you may be able to fall pregnant and carry a child yourself is by using donated eggs.
Together with the Cape Fertility Clinic, Fertility Travel works very closely with a leading egg donor agency, Gift ov life, who is accredited with SASREG, the Southern African Society for Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecological Endoscopy.
Gift ov life specializes in matching you to your ideal egg donor who will work closely with your fertility clinic in Cape Town.
Fertility Travel is available to answer any questions you may have about the egg donor process and help you find your ideal donor.
Who needs egg donation?
Women who are not producing eggs due to an inherited condition, surgery, chemotherapy, ovarian disease or early menopause.
This is also an option for woman over 40 whose eggs are declining with age and who also are at risk of passing on a genetic disorder to their children.
What is the egg donation process?
The donor has to go through the IVF cycle as far as egg collection. The donated eggs are then fertilized by your partner’s sperm and the embryo is transferred to your uterus.
The success rates with egg donation are higher than with routine IVF as the eggs are all from women between the ages of 20-35. The Cape Fertility Clinic have a policy not to treat woman with egg donation over the age of 50.
Legally in South Africa egg donors are anonymous. Many couples come to South Africa for their treatment as in other countries the donor can be traced. South Africa is therefore one of the most sought after destinations for egg donation IVF.
The Cape Fertility Clinic in Cape Town prides themselves on excellent medical standards and pregnancy success rates, putting themselves amongst the highest in the world.
